SCHOOL FAILURE IN SPAIN

Different studies on academic level have been done throughout Europe and the results for Spain haven't been really successful. There are very high rates of failure and spanish people wonder what happens with students in our country. Since different tests have shown this figure, we can understand school failure as a problem we have to face.
  Academic failure in Spain show our country as a place with a really bad education system to other countries in Europe. Spain education methods are seen as poor and ineffective. he school and high school teachers are considered not to be qualified enough for the task they carry out. People from abroad tend to think that they only give long explanations but they don't make students participate so they're not motivated. Spanish students risk not to be required for high-skilled employment in other countries. If school failure in Spain continue to exist, spanish people will miss a lot of opportunities of working abroad.
  To overcome this problem, the Education Ministry will have to play a big role. It should make new laws for the teachers to pass more examinations to make sure they're good enough for teaching; they would also have to learn more pedagogy in which they would learn how to motivate students.
  Academic failure in Spain is a very big problem which is affecting students in a negative way. If the Education Ministry starts searching for ways to stop this situation, Spanish school failure might be reduced.
 

The importance of reading

I. Reading can improve our lives in many ways.

II. It helps you to obtain better results in your academic life.

      2. It stops you from using colloquial expressions.

      B. It can make you become a more mature person.

         1. You realize about problems you have in life.

         2. You get different perspectives of certain things.

        2. When people read they're usually calm.

   B. It helps you to forget about worries.

      1. You empathize with the characters in the story.

      2. You don't think about your own life. 

 V. Reading helps you in your daily life and gives you another vision of the world that surrounds you. 

GLOBALIZATION

 I. Although globalization has a lot of advantages, it is a process which means the loss of the cultural identity of a country.

          1. There is a very little interest in trying traditional food.
          2. There are prejudices about other countries's gastronomy.
   
       B. They buy the same kind of products if they find they're cheaper.

  V. Globalization is a process that means a loss of culture, induces exploitation of sub-developed countries and makes tourist feel comfortable trying and buying things they can have in their own countries.

Studying abroad

 I.  Studying abroad is a great opportunity that people shouldn't refuse. 

 II. It is a good opportunity for learning other languages.

   

     A. You are every time in touch with native speakers of the country.

         2. People you have to deal with in the different situations while your abroad.  

      B  You meet people from different countries.

   

          1. Students tend to teach basic things from their language to others.

          2. Multilingual activities are usually organized by university.

          A. accommodation in a flat for yourself. 

   

            1. You have to do different tasks at home.

            2. It helps people become autonomous.

          B. Share a flat with flatmates.

            2. You can learn things from others.

           C. Stay in a house with a family.

             1.You don't have to do so many tasks at home. 

             2. You get used to new customs.

              A. Most famous places of the country.

               1. Buying souvenirs.

               2. Buying the most typical products of the country.

       

      V. Trying a different experience.

              A. Forget about the routine lifestyle

               2. You may get to know new methods of learning.

                2. Different kind of adventures.

       VI. Studying abroad is an experience that makes you more responsible and independent and it                gives you different perspectives of life.

  

         

   Dependency on new technologies is a big problem and it is increasing very fast in our society. Nowadays, we have access to the internet from our mobile phones and many other gadgets like tablets. This fact encourage people to communicate with others through them and they prefer sending a message to meet with their friends and speaking face to face. Sometimes, when a group of people is together, they use their mobile phone from time to time, and they don't really pay attention to the people who are in front of them. New technologies are also a cause of academic failure, since young people doesn't concentrate on what they are studying since they stop to take a look at their mobile phones and see if they have comments on the pictures they upload on facebook or to answer the whatsapps they get. If people continue to use their gadgets in an uncontrolled way, social relationships will change completely and school failure will continue to happen.

  

    In order to overcome this problem, the government should provide talks by psychologists to explain the risks of this extended situation to adults and teenagers. They would tell them that the addiction to gadgets can be very dangerous because people are more absent-minded and stress and they don't enjoy the present. They should also give pieces of advice to parents about how to keep their children away from their mobile phones when they are studying or doing homework, so they can concentrate on what they're doing. Parents should also have an active participation in this task, and they would be expected to follow the guidelines that psychologists gave to them, which would include take the gadgets away while their children are working in something. If people follow these suggestions, new technologies won't be a big problem in the society any more. 

DOING ACTIVITIES BY MYSELF IS SOMETHING THAT I REALLY LIKE BUT MOST PEOPLE DON'T

  Something that I really like doing while other people don't is doing activities alone. For example, I don't like practicing team sports such as football or basketball, but the individual ones like swimming and dancing. In my opinion, these activities are a good way to forget about the routine and find ourselves in many ways. When it comes to studying, I also choose to do it alone as for me it is very important to be concentrated. In addition, I am very keen on saying things aloud because this helps me a lot to remember information and I couldn't do it if I met with other people to study. I'm also fond of reading, which is another individual activity; I think it is very helpful because you learn new things from it and it makes you use your imagination; so I believe that more people should do it. It is shown that doing activities alone helps you to improve your self-steem and confidence. In conclusion, I can say that doing activities on my own has always helped me and I recommend other people to try it.

Reading from book and reading from e-book are not very different experiences

Reading from printed book is very similar from reading from an e-book, since both have been created for the same purpose. First of all, in both of them a story is written, and you have to use your imagination to feel the events that are told. Another similarity is that the printed book and the e-book have the same structure, the story is divided in chapters and every single page is numbered, so they both help the reader to organize the story in different parts. Another thing in common is that both a printed book and an e-book tells exactly the same story, with the same words that the author has written, so the reader can enjoy what they are reading equally. One curious similarity is that, although the e-book is electronic, in both of them you can turn the page, and experiment the feeling of progress that is very important when you read something; this is a  psychological matter, which was thought to be essential to incorporate in the e-book. A last similarity is that the book and the e-book are easy to get, there are a lot of stores where you can buy them. In conclusion, you can see that even a lot of people think than reading from a printed book and reading from a e-book are very different experiences, they are really similar.

Living in the city or living in the country

Living in the city is very different from living in the countryside. If you live in the city, you can move around very easily and fast. However, you have to take the car to go to many places if you live in the country and it takes you a lot of time when you go to work, to school or to the hospital. Another difference is that, in the city, there's always a lot of noise and sometimes it can be really disgusting, or even affect your mood and make you be stressed and tired. In contrast, the countryside is very quiet and peaceful, so you can be more relaxed and feel more free there. In the city there's also a lot of pollution and it affects your heath in a negative way, while in the countryside the air is cleaner and it is better for your lungs.The life in the city is safer than the life in the country, since in the city you are surrounded by a lot of neighbors that can help you or call the police is something is wrong, but in the country people are usually further from other people, and the houses with garden are more liable for thieves to get into. The activities people do in the city are also very different form the ones people in the country do. The people who live in the country usually do activities such as riding a bike, gardening, especially middle-aged people, or reading. On the other hand, the people in the city do other kind of activities like going to the cinema or going clubbing. As you can see, both ways of life have advantages and drawbacks, and none of them is better than the other. 

   Young people should be conscious of the risks of driving when they have previously drunk alcohol. There are several cases of people who have had accidents on the road because of this reason.One person is killed every half-hour due to drunk driving, statistics also show that alcohol is a factor in almost half of all traffic fatalities. Many young people enjoy night clubbing and drinking with their friends, but the trouble comes when they have to take the car to get  home. When they're on the road after drinking it is very difficult for them to concentrate and they have less ability to react quickly, so they can be involved in serious problems, like hitting a person who is crossing the street or get damaged themselves. 
Local authorities ought to help stopping this situation. They could do it by providing busses every hour in the night so that people who go out don't feel obliged to return home in their cars. Anyway, people should be responsible of their own life and realize that if there isn't any way to come back to their house but going by car they shouldn't drink. 
In conclusion, if we all cooperate, I think that we will be able to stop this awful situation and the deaths due to this will be reduced. 

The lake Bled in Slovenia is a beautiful place that attracts many visitors every year.
It is a crystalline mass of water framed by mountains. In the middle of the lake, you can see a small island in which there is church. It is a really comfortable place to go, especially if you want to relax and contemplate the nature. When you are there you feel cold and you can notice there is something mysterious in that place.When I was there with high school it remained me to Agatha Christie novels, since they are usually developed on islands or any other kind of isolated places. I was really shocked when my teacher told me that the English writer had actually go to the lake to write. I don't know exactly the reason but I felt nostalgic in that place, a lot of thoughts came to my mind very quickly as if it was a film; but at the same time I was delighted by green trees, the transparent water and the snowed mountains at the back. There is a legend about the bell of the church, which says that if you ring the bell three times and ask for a wish it will come truth. I don't usually believe in this kind of things but I can say I had success in i

t. I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the place because we went with sloven people in a exchange and they were really interested in making us learn as many things as possible about their culture, history and traditions. They told us that it was frustrating to live in a really interesting and marvelous country and a lot of people from Europe didn't know it or appreciate it.
I can say that place really touched me by its beauty, and maybe because it is very different from the places I'm used to visiting, so I'm sure I will go back some day.
